Aerotech Logo Solid Rocket Motor Propellant Reloads

Aerotech's solid rocket motor propellant reloads are available from Slack Pete's Rockets in the F through to M total impulse power range. As with the single use composite propellant motors, these motor reloads use a composite propellant that is nearly three times more powerful than black powder model rocket motors. The solid propellant reloads are available for motor casings in 24mm diameter, 29mm diameter, 38mm diameter, 54mm diameter and 75mm diameter.

NOTE 1: Composite propellant rocket motor reloads usually require you to be in possession of an explosives licence to use them. If you wish to store any composite propellant rocket motor reload, a registered store is a legal requirement. Slack Pete's Rockets is unable to sell any of these motor propellant reloads unless you can produce the relevant licences. For more details on the licence requirements, please see the legal issues FAQ, in our technical info section.

NOTE 2: The delay times are categorised as follows;

  • 6 seconds - Short Delay
  • 10 seconds - Medium Delay
  • 14 seconds - Long Delay
  • 18 seconds - Extra Long Delay
  • Plugged - A plugged motor does not have have a delay. Any ejection delay in a plugged motor must be initiated electronically (i.e. by an altimeter, timer or accelerometer).

NOTE 3: The code numbers for the casings are denoted in the form xx/yyyy where xx = the motor diameter in milimeters (e.g. 29, 38, 54, 75 or 98), and yyyy = the motor maximum total impulse in Newton seconds (e.g. 60, 720, 7680, etc.).
