Cesaroni Pro38 Reloadable Solid Rocket Motors

Pro38 is the first commercial thermoplastic propellant-based solid rocket motor. Pro38 is a modular, reloadable solid propellant rocket motor system which is, as the name suggests, designed to fit in a standard 38mm diameter airframe. Pro38 is classified with a UN Classification Code of 1.4C, and has a UN number of 0351.

Benefits of the Pro38 motor system are listed below:

  • Delay/Eject Module with long delay standard (easily adjustable)
  • No o-rings or spacers required, no greasing, no black powder to pour.
  • Ignition is fast and reliable.
  • Igniter pellet and electric match standard with no fragile ignition components.
  • Hardware is low cost with a patented single tube motor hardware design.
  • Lower hardware cost = lower cost per flight.
  • Less is lost if you lose your rocket.
  • Assembly is easy since the Reload Module is pre-assembled.
  • Set the delay, screw together and you are ready to fly.
  • Cleanup easier than assembly.
  • Delay/Eject and Reload Modules are unscrewed and thrown away.
  • No closures to clean.
  • Wipe off the Motor Casing and reload.

    NOTE

Composite propellant rocket motor reloads usually require you to be in possession of an explosives licence to use them. If you wish to store any composite propellant rocket motor reload, a registered store is a legal requirement. Slack Pete's Rockets is unable to sell any of these motor propellant reloads unless you can produce the relevant licences. For more details on the licence requirements, please see the legal issues FAQ, in our technical info section.
