The latest additions to the range of Black Sky Research products sold by Slack Pete's Rockets are the rail launch system products. Launch Rail A rail launch system offers a far more rigid launch structure than the more conventional rod based launch systems. Black Sky Research has introduced the first, and only, rail based launch system on the market, consisting of a set of transportable rails, which can be assembled from 2 foot long sections, to form a rigid launch struture. Rail Guides Additionally, a set of rail guides is also available, either in Delrin, or Aluminium. The aluminium versions are used for large rockets, and the Delrin versions are used for the majority of High Power rockets. The rail guides are very small, being only approximately 1 cm tall by 1 cm diameter. Their small size helps reduce drag. Igniters Another Black Sky Research product sold by Slack Pete's Rockets, is the Black Sky Research igniters, used for motor ignition of high power rockets.
