Launch Pads
Aerotech Mantis Launch Pad
- the most versatile hobby rocket launch pad available, making it the launch pad for model rockets. Comes with a 1/4" two-piece launch rod.
Slack Pete's Rockets folding pad.
- Constructed from sturdy box
section anodised aluminium, this pad is capable of taking rods from
the small Estes rods through to 1" diameter rods. It has a
large footprint area for stability but folds down into very compact dimensions.
It comes with an integral folding stainless steel blast deflector. Facilities exist for the attachment of relay boxes etc.
Custom Launch Pads.

Launch Rods
We can supply most sizes of launch rod in stainless steel. Most rods are 1.5 meters long, longer or shorter rods can be supplied.
Adhesives and Finishing supplies
Most model rockets are assembled using White wood glue or plastic cement type glues. The higher performance of high power rockets and the materials used require the use of epoxy resin glues and sometimes 'super glue'.
The longer setting times of some epoxies lead to stronger joints. I normally use 5 min epoxy or super glue for positioning components and then reinforce the joints with one hour epoxy. All fin fillets should be done with one hour epoxy.
Grip epoxy is available in 5 minute and one hour versions.

Fibreglass and coating materials
For high performance rockets such as altitude record attempts, it is neccessary to use stronger materials than phenolic or PML Quantum Tube. Slack Pete's Rockets can supply high quality Fibretech British fibreglass laminating kits, as well as microballoons and microfilaments for all your high performance rocketry requirements.
