The photograph to the right shows the Black Sky Research ALTACC recording altimeter/accelerometer.
The ALTACC uses a standard PP3 9 volt battery. The best results amongst the batteries have been for Lithium 9 volt batteries, since these enable multiple flights to be made on a single battery. With alkaline PP3 batteries, it is better to use a fresh battery every flight or two, just to be safe. After all, having to use a fresh battery is preferable to losing sometimes hundreds of pounds of rocket, if there is not enough power in a battery!
